Marine Structural Design Draughtsmen
Experienced marine structural design draughtsmen are often in short supply in South Africa. We welcome submissions from suitably qualified people for future consideration.
Requirements
- Experience with Classification Society rule-based ship design
- Strong 2D detailing for fabrication
- Knowledge of structural design and strength of materials
- Relevant technical qualification (technician level or similar)
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D fabrication drawings
- Prepare drawings for Class approval and construction
- Contribute to structural design processes

How to Study Naval Architecture in South Africa
Naval Architecture is primarily an engineering-based field. While some international universities offer undergraduate degrees in Naval Architecture, the more common route is to first complete an engineering undergraduate degree, followed by postgraduate specialisation in Naval Architecture.
